What inspired you or led to your current career?

The main reason is when I was in my early twenties I had cystic acne, and I know how bad that feels and what it feels like to have that kind of bad skin. So, I started researching. People will tell you anything! I would have drank lizard’s blood if they would have told me it would clear my face up. So, I sort of fell into it, doing the research. I just really had a passion for it and wanted to help people.

What is your favorite restaurant in Athens, and what do you love there?

It is The National. It is my old friend that vegetable plate, you cannot go wrong.I have never had a bad meal there. It is consistently my favorite.

What is your favorite thing to do in Athens?

M3 Yoga. I am a yoga girl. It is my favorite thing to do in town now. It is a fantastic studio. The teachers are great, it is a nice local business. It started in this tiny studio and now they have two. They treat everybody–you know you think of it as these tiny little people–and they try to make it more inclusive for everyone and that is the thing I like about them the most.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Paris. It is the skincare mecca. Absolutely Paris.

Do you have a favorite movie or remember your first movie you saw in a movie theatre?

The first movie I ever saw was Rocky, because my dad loved it so much we had to go see it five more times. So, that is imprinted in my head. I was like why are you so obsessed with this movie. That is the first movie I remember. I would have to say from simple quoting though that Pulp Fiction would be my favorite movie.

What advice do you give to people, or would you want to give to people?

Be careful who your friends are, or make sure you have a really good circle around you because as tough times come that is a bad time to find out who your friends are. So, I would say have a good circle of people and know who your friends are.

If you could see any band, dead or alive, play The Georgia Theatre who would it be?

Dead, Tom Petty, because I missed seeing him live because that would have been amazing. Alive, this is so basic, but Drake. I fully embrace my basicness on that one. I don’t care.

Do you have a current/former local business that makes you most nostalgic about Athens?

Blue Sky Coffee. God that breaks my heart. I used to actually get up and go to breakfast which you will not see in real life. I hate mornings. I just had a lot of good memories in that business.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word “home”?

Husband, happiness and security.
