What inspired you or led you to your current career?

I was working at Bell’s grocery store in 1998 and a friend of mine started working at First American and she told me that they were hiring and told me that I was overqualified to be working at the grocery store and really needed to be doing something else. I said alright, and I put in my application, and I have been here ever since…19 years later. I was a teller for a few years and now am Customer Service Relations Specialist. I’ve been at the downtown branch for fifteen years.

What is your favorite restaurant in Athens and what do you love there?

My favorite restaurant in Athens would probably be Cheddars. I like their fried fish and I love their broccoli casserole, it’s my favorite. But my all time favorite is Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen! It’s the best.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

I would love to go to Hawaii. It is beautiful. I want to visit at least once. am going to make that happen. It is on my bucket list.

What advice do you give your kids often?

To stay humble, work hard and always reach for the stars! You know, do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Continue to always set goals for yourself because you can do anything you set your mind to. A smile a day keeps the devil away!

What is something else on your bucket list?

I want to travel to Paris as well. In general I would love to do more traveling and to have more spare time for my husband and I, and my family really, to get together and to do things.

If you could see any band play The Georgia Theatre, dead or alive, broken up or not, who would it be?

Prince. I hate that I never got to see him play live.

What is your favorite thing to do in Athens?

We love to go down to The Foundry. We are actually going to Smooth Jazz this Sunday coming up.

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?

I can beatbox. A lot of people don’t know that. But, I did that a lot as a child because I grew up with a lot of boys, and I had to compete! It was just me and my little brother, and I said I need to learn how to do this. I got pretty good! I cannot do it as much now because I have my braces in, but I love it.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word home?

My children, love and comfort.
