What was your favorite class in high school?

I would say U.S. History. I really enjoyed getting to see the cause and effect of different events from back in the day. It is interesting because we get to analyze what we did in the past and get to change our present actions. It also helped that I had an excellent teacher, Mr. Anderson.

When we are not sheltering in place, what do you love to do in Athens?

Honestly, my favorite thing is playing pick-up soccer at the University of Georgia Intramural soccer fields.

What are you doing with your extra free time at home?

This is sort of nerdy, but I am keeping up with how COVID-19 is affecting our economy and what the Federal Reserve is doing to help out. I’m also trying to increase my typing speed, so I can be more productive.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I don’t have one country on my bucket list or anything but South Africa would be nice. It seems like it is a pretty vibrant country with diverse people. I would love to go on a safari in the Kalahari desert to see zebras, tigers, and hippos in their natural habitat.

If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and where?

I would definitely have lunch with a guy named Preston Pysh, at Kelly’s with some barbeque chicken and mac and cheese. He created a podcast that covers economics and investing. I started listening to it a couple of months ago. He is the reason I wanted to major in economics, so I would say thanks and ask for advice.

If you could give advice to someone just entering high school, what would you tell them?

I would tell them it is going to be alright. When I was going into high school, I overestimated how hard it would be. It is definitely an increase in difficulty, but nothing you cannot handle. So, just relax, do your best, and you will be fine. I promise.

What is your favorite movie, series, or just something you are watching right now?

I’m a simple guy so my favorite series would either be the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, or this may surprise some people, but The Andy Griffith Show.

Do you have a favorite book or author?

My favorite book is called The Price of Tomorrow, by Jeff Booth. If you have free time I would highly recommend reading it or listening to the audiobook.

What is the best advice you have received?

It would be unfair to pick one, but recently I have had a couple. The first is to try as hard as you can in whatever you do, no matter what. The second would be: argue like you are right, but listen like you are wrong.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

These questions are tough because I really do not know. But I would like to work for a professional sports team and try to work my way up the ladder to one day be a general manager.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word “home”?

Fun, family and forever.
